Used to love their Kueh Dar dar looks nice on the outside, but when eaten, its burnt smell. They hide all the burnt kueh inside the dar dar. $1.90 for such a shortcut quality. Disappointing.

Terrible customer service. Even though there weren't any other customers around, the lady staff completely ignored me. I had to call her a few times just to get her attention. And then, when I finally placed my order, she didn't even respond. I don't even know if she understood what I was saying. The whole time, she didn't even say a word to me, making me feel like I was the one who was supposed to be serving her instead. I even said thank you when she gave me my cake, but still no response from her. I'm not going back there again, no matter how good their cake is.

Inflation is real. $1.90 for a slice of pandan cake, it doesn't even equate to being a slice as it's too pathetically small. It's like a half eaten slice and cut further into another half.

Bought my favourite kueh bangkit and peanut Kok chai. Very disappointed the quality of both. Powdery pastry + powdery peanut, lost the peanut characteristics, no peanut fragrance. The bangkit is sweet and unremarkable, can't compare to neighbourhoods bangkit.
Banggawan no longer trade mark for quality. 😭

Rude and unprofessional lady staff. Noticed me and immediately ignored me and turned away to pack. Stood there for over 1 minute. The other woman staff didn’t even turn around and both were too busy chatting over the food.

Cake quality has dropped, with the cake being dense, and mangoes not being sweet or flavourful. Edible and acceptable, but why get this when you can buy from the other cake shops within the same price bracket and get nicer and more delightful cakes for around the same price?

Before I made my purchase of yr Signature Pandan cake for my oversea friends to try, I asked do u help to cut and provide plastics bags? Sales said yes.. ok then I go with 2 cakes n requested to cut. When I asked for bags? She said 10cts each so 24pcs cake is $2.40 extra,. Ridiculous and still claim I thought u meant the paper carrier. I m like .. I told u I need give out to friends n eat n try.. else y ask u for something plastics bag?? If I buy keuh, u also gv me a plastics bag to put inside right?? Is juz reflect how the service is and yet carrying a SG signature around to be proud of.

First of all, I am a fan of Bengawan Solo, and I am a regular lover of the walnut cake and the pandan cake.
Today, I visited the Bengawan Solo outlet at Bugis Junction and bought a walnut cake and marble cake. When I cut it, I immediately noticed that it was different—it was very dry. When I took a bite, my tongue got hurt due to a tiny stone in the cake. I am very disappointed.

The staff member was rude and unprofessional. She noticed me, immediately ignored me, and turned away to pack. I stood there for over a minute. The other female staff member didn't even turn around, and both were too busy chatting over the food.

This just reflects the service quality, especially for a business carrying a Singaporean signature product that they should be proud of.

Went in yesterday and the lady was very nice. My go to whenever I go to Singapore for the pandan cake and kueh lapis and lapis sagu. First time at this location.

My go to place either for the special occasion cake like Mother's Day today, or for their assortment of nonya kueh.

Cakes and Singaporean pastries. The best place to get local/peranakan pastries. There is no seating and no drinks served here. A strong recommendation is the cheese pandan cake! Otherwise, the colorful coconut filled peranakan pastries are always worth the calories.

I love most of Bengawan Soolos snacks but my best advice is to stay away from their chocolate cake roll it smells and taste like feet.

Nice nyonya kueh and small size good for portion control.

The cakes and desserts we bought have always been lovely. Favourite ones remain that pandan flan/custardy desert, with a caramel sauce. Delicious. I can also recommend the Sagu Melaka. Prices are honest and the team always helpful.

The cakes and desserts we bought have always been lovely. Our favorite remains that pandan flan/custardy **dessert**, with a caramel sauce. Delicious. I can also recommend the Sagu Melaka. Prices are honest, and the team **is** always helpful.
