Excavation Management System (EMS) Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

TBM & STP Monitoring:

• Monitor primary muck reconciliation indicators from the TBM and secondary indicators from the STP.
• Check for signs of over-excavation on a ring-by-ring basis and raise concerns promptly.
• Assist the STP operator in the daily operations of the STP and in checking slurry quality.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

• Interpret and analyze data from TBM and STP to identify anomalies and provide explanations to the Tunnel Manager/QPS.
• Produce detailed reports for each tunnel ring, documenting the amount of excavated material recorded by both TBM and STP.
• Optimize tunnelling parameters (KPIs) to improve project efficiency and quality.

Operational Support:

• Apply both theoretical and practical knowledge of Excavation Management Systems to tunnelling projects.
• Support the implementation and management of instrumentation and monitoring systems for tunnelling works.
• Assist in assessing and treating slurry quality to maintain optimal excavation conditions.
• Analyse and present case histories from past tunnelling projects (mechanized and conventional) to support continuous improvement and best practices.

Safety & Compliance:

• Supervise safety measures on-site to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to LTA (Land Transport Authority) project standards.
• Contribute to environmental impact assessments and develop appropriate mitigation measures.

Job Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Business Administration
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 9 years of experience in TBM/STP operations, with at least 2 years related to slurry TBM.
• Experience in Slurry Treatment Plants (STP) preferred but not essential.
• Familiarity with the tunnel excavation process using slurry techniques.
• Previous experience with LTA projects is an advantage.
