Bugis Junction sits at 200 Victoria Street, directly above Bugis MRT (EW12/DT14). The nearest free public screening of the Final is at CHIJMES, whose Main Lawn is running a World Cup live screening village on a 360-inch screen, with a second screen on B1, from 11 June through to 20 July. Step out of the mall''s Victoria Street exit, cross toward the CHIJMES complex at 30 Victoria Street, and you are on the Lawn in roughly three minutes. By any measure this is the tightest mall-to-fan-zone pairing on the island: no bus, no taxi, no MRT needed to reach the screening.
The CHIJMES screening is free and walk-in, with an F&B village run by The Shake Affinity serving fan platters, beer and cocktails through the night. Seating is first-come. For a 3.00am kick-off on a Monday, the Lawn fills from late Sunday evening, so the trade-off for the shortest walk is that you should arrive early to claim a spot.
Supper first, screen second: two routes from Bugis Junction
Because Bugis Junction itself has a deep dining floor, most shoppers treat the Final as a supper-and-screen itinerary rather than a single venue visit. Two routes make sense, and they suit different temperaments.
Route one: eat at Bugis Junction, walk to CHIJMES. The mall''s restaurants at 200 Victoria Street cover most cravings. For something substantial before a long night, Josh''s Grill, Monster Curry and Xiao Long Kan Hotpot all sit inside Bugis Junction and stay open into the late evening; Ajisen Ramen and Yoshinoya are the quick-bowl options if you are running late. Eat by 11pm, settle the bill, and you still have three hours before kick-off to walk the three minutes to CHIJMES, grab a beer at the F&B village, and find a spot on the Lawn. This route keeps the whole night inside the Bugis belt end to end.
Route two: walk south to Lau Pa Sat. If you want 24-hour food and the screening in the same place, Lau Pa Sat is about an eight-minute walk south down Robinson Road from Bugis Junction, and its hawker stalls run through the night. You can eat at 2am and watch the Final on the satay-street screens without moving again. The walk is longer than the CHIJMES route, but you never have to choose between food and football.
If you would rather not leave the belt
Not everyone wants a crowd at 3am on a Monday. The Final is one of 28 matches Mediacorp is airing free-to-air, so the belt''s own screens will do. Channel 5 carries it on any digital TV, and mewatch streams it free with a no-cost account on iOS, Android, web, smart TVs, Apple TV and Chromecast. The paid World Cup pass is only needed for non-free matches, not the Final. If you are staying at the InterContinental Singapore next door, or you have a screen in a Bugis Junction-adjacent apartment, this is the zero-travel option.
Two things to plan around regardless of route. The MRT does not run at kick-off; Monday''s first trains start around 5.45am from Bugis, which lines up well with a regulation match ending near 5am, and covers you if the Final goes to extra time and penalties. The NightRider and Nite Owl night buses only run on Friday, Saturday and eve-of-holiday nights, so there is no night bus on a Sunday night. Getting to the screening is the easy part; getting home means either waiting for first train, a taxi or PHV, or walking back to the belt.
The losing semi-finalists, France and England, meet in the third-place play-off at 5.00am on Sunday 19 July, also free on Channel 5 and mewatch. It is a useful dry run for your body clock 24 hours before the Final.
