Its been awhile since we had it. We ordered: 1. Escargos which was alright. Could use more garlic and oomph. 2. Potato Gratin: cheesy and baked to quite the perfection. 3. Garlic Prawn (Ajillos): would have better if it was fresh tiger prawns. 4. Mentaiko Pasta: its okie. Well seasoned but not too salty. 5. Sukiyaki omelette rice i believe: huge. Its okie as well. Small place and it was very crowded so it quite cramped. Service was okie.

Love the atmosphere and the service but food leaves much to be desired. Came for dinner on a Thursday around 6.30pm. Had to wait about 45mins before we could get a table as only counter seats were available. Party of two ordered the prawn and scallop gratin, tonkatsu curry and the hamburg steak. We had two asahi's as well. The gratin did not have much potato, it was a baked pasta dish. There were only TWO prawns and ONE scallop. Not much flavor and had chicken bits inside. Would not recommend. Tonkatsu curry was decent, pork a touch dry but overall okay. No Miso soup given. Hamburger steak was good. Service was great and waitstaff were polite and friendly.

Recommended by a local friend to visit for dinner since we were staying nearby, the restaurant is pretty crowded during dinner time on a weekend, we waited for quite some time before getting seated. The menu has a good variety of japanese western fusion dishes, we ordered escargot and seafood paella to share. The food takes a while to arrive but it was served fresh, which is great. Both dishes are pretty okay, seafood paella is not too big, but enough for two, overall dining experience was alright, but nothing too special to shout about. It is definitely more of a no frills restaurant with traditional and family vibes.

Had a great and fantastic meal at Ma Maison Bugis! Loved the creamy corn soup, sizzling garlic prawns, perfectly cooked sirloin steak, and the katsu curry omurice was amazing—fluffy egg, crispy cutlet, rich curry. Everything was fresh and full of flavour. Will be back!

I came to Ma Maison with a friend on a Saturday evening after a patient 30 minute wait as I have always wanted to dine here. I have consistently believed that the food here is exceptional, given the frequent long wait and queue I observe whenever I pass by any of the outlets. Personally, the food was okay, I ordered the Omu-Rice and as usual the eggs I have had at Japanese restaurants never fail to please me, however I was not a fan of the sauce, although it could just be me as most people seemed to enjoy it. We also had the Classic Strawberry Shortcake which had the usual layers of light, fluffy cake, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream, both visually appealing and satisfying. The restaurant itself featured subdued lighting that contributed to an inviting atmosphere. Each table was adorned with small light bulbs, which provided ideal illumination for a comforting ambience, making it also suitable for photos. The staff demonstrated a high level of attentiveness and possess extensive knowledge of the menu. They operate efficiently and maintain professionalism, even in the face of the challenges presented by a bustling restaurant environment. Overall, I had a nice time but I may opt for something else on the menu when I visit again.

Good lunch deal which includes soup, salad and drink. The restaurant is nicely decorated in a traditional style. Quite crowded during weekday lunchtime but the wait at the queue is not too long. You might be offered a seat at the bar but if you can wait a bit longer for a table.

It's one of my favourite restaurants. This outlet has been here since day one of Bugis Junction, which was close to 30 years ago. Food is top-notch. The only thing I wanna complain about is noise level inside the restaurant. The place was full of diners chatting, and with the background music, it can be a little overwhelming. Also, the interior could use a little updating. Will still be coming back for the fabulous food 👍👍👍

Haven't been here in yonks! Used to go often when I was working in the area. A bunch went for dinner. Tried again their signature Hamburg steak. Yums. Atmosphere very woody and cosy. Though the tables are just packed in there. The place to go if you want quality Japanese interpretation of Western food.

Nice vintage looking restaurant 🤩 Food/Restaurants: Food 🥘 : I ordered the hamburger (supposedly a signature) it was okay! nothing special but i would say the carrots are surprisingly sweet and light and quite a nice addition to the meal. The potato salad was meh and the patty itself was okay.. My partner got the wagyu promo hot plate- full of sauce and ingredients! it was okay too! nothing special. We’re just guessing maybe they are better with their spaghetti? We ordered the strawberry shortcake for dessert and it honestly saved the whole experience! hahaa it was light and fluffy and not too sweet! Went really well with tea 😊 Their iced tea was really good Service 🤵🏻: Staff were quick to respond and very friendly! Atmosphere 🫧: Cute vintage looking interior and great for photos if you’re into IG photos and stuff hahahaah Overall: All good! food can be better but it’s ok!

revisited after 2 decades and their squid ink pasta is still the best! onion gratin recipe seemed changed though, tasted thinner than usual. as for the beef sirloin, it paired well with the pasta and it was tasty too.
