I had ordered a bowl of extra rice separate from my main bowl of rice, and they had the audacity to serve it to me like nothing happened. When I questioned them again, they apologized and put all the rice in a big bowl with the beef, as it should have been. But I noticed the portion of beef was pathetic. The chicken karaage was all cold, which I know is precooked and left there without being heated up. The food tasted poor. I'm not sure how much more I can put up with Yoshinoya, as Sukiya is better in terms of their overall quality and portion sizes.

A delightful joint for gyudon (beef bowls) at Bugis Junction basement.
I love that they maintain their standards and affordable prices in a comfortable, air-conditioned environment, which is especially pleasant during off-peak hours.
*Note to management: Some sofas need reupholstering.
I usually get the regular (R) beef bowl, starting from $6.50, and often add an onsen egg. Sets are an additional $4.90 and include a drink and a side dish like karaage (fried chicken) or salad.
They now have a much bigger menu with more selections beyond just beef bowls.
I love the self-service condiments, especially the fresh pickled ginger.
Staff are mostly courteous; some are friendly and appreciative too. Keep it up!
Definitely my go-to for a quick beef bowl craving fix.
Update:
When the operations manager replies to every review in great detail, this establishment truly warrants a 5-star upgrade. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently ordered gyudon from Yoshinoya and understand that outside food isn’t allowed. However, we had some chicken skewers (tori q sticks) and placed them in our bowl as an addition to our meal, leaving the empty sticks on the plate. When the server cleared our table, they picked up the sticks, handed them back to us, and said, "Outside food." He is a middle to senior aged guy with super big ears.
Seriously? Is this how you treat paying customers? I purchased your food, yet you refused to dispose of the empty sticks—essentially just trash at that point. What’s next? If I use a tissue, will you hand that back to me too? This kind of service is unacceptable, especially for customers who support your store.
A little flexibility and common courtesy would go a long way in making the dining experience better. Very disappointed.

Their double beef gyodon is nice and flavourful. The standard is similar to Yoshinoya in other countries. The service was relatively fast, considering I visited during peak lunch hours on Sunday and the place was packed. The atmosphere, however, was not great. They squeezed in as many tables as they could to maximize the space, making it uncomfortable. I ate my food with the constant concern that my elbow would hit another customer who was sitting at the next table.

The food is great, and I loved my meal: one large egg beef bowl and one regular cheese beef bowl. The beef was soft and well-seasoned in their tasty sauce, along with the soft onions and Japanese rice. The portions were very filling and worth the price. It comes with soup as well. I would say that the regular size is good for one person, but the large might be too much rice. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was average, quite cramped and stuffy.

Can't go wrong with Yoshinoya; this outlet also has good, consistent flavor. Service was quick, and our number was called within 5 minutes of ordering. Ordering is via a kiosk at the entrance. Operationally, this creates a good flow, moving the crowd and turning over tables quickly. Seats are unfortunately a little squeezy, but this is fully understandable given the lunch crowd.

It has been a very, very long time since I last ate at Yoshinoya. Now, ordering is done via machines. I ordered their Ebi Curry Rice and Onsen Egg. Food was served very fast, less than 5 minutes after ordering. Their Japanese curry is quite nice! You can further enhance its taste by adding some chili powder.

A great place to enjoy a meal with family, offering a wide variety of interesting and tasty options. The food is also served quickly, so there’s no need for a long wait.

Ordered a Gyudon, which tasted pretty average. It comes with miso soup. Food was served quite fast despite the lunch hour. It's all self-service.

The food quality has noticeably declined since the branch’s renovation. The curry set came with a salad but no soup. Instead of fresh leaves, they threw in the cabbage core, making up a large portion of the unappealing salad. The chicken breast had an unnaturally tender texture. Will not visit again. A set meal like this costs 18 dollars.
