Bachmann Japanese Restaurant at Bugis Junction brought authentic Japanese culinary traditions to Singapore's dining scene, specializing in carefully crafted ramen, traditional Japanese dishes, and contemporary interpretations of classic flavors before its closure. During its operation in the Bugis area, this restaurant served the local community with dedication to Japanese cooking techniques, offering customers access to genuine Japanese comfort foods including various ramen specialties, gyoza dumplings, bento sets, and seasonal menu items that reflected both traditional preparation methods and modern culinary innovations.
The restaurant was particularly renowned for its ramen offerings, including distinctive preparations such as Tom Yam Shabu-Shabu Ramen (8), Yakibuta Tsukemen featuring roast pork belly ramen (0), and unique Wasabi noodles incorporating Kizami Wasabi paste that provided mildly pungent and gentle heat sensations. These signature dishes demonstrated the restaurant's commitment to both authentic Japanese flavors and creative fusion approaches that appealed to Singapore's diverse culinary preferences, supported by traditional accompaniments like gyoza and comprehensive beverage selections.
While Bachmann Japanese Restaurant has since closed, its contribution to Singapore's Japanese dining landscape reflected the ongoing appreciation for authentic Japanese cuisine in the Bugis area, where numerous other Japanese restaurants continue to serve the community. The restaurant's legacy represents the continuous evolution of Japanese dining options in Singapore, where establishments strive to balance traditional authenticity with local preferences to create memorable culinary experiences that honor Japanese food culture while serving Singapore's multicultural dining community.
Sub-standard food, poor customer service and even worse post-service recovery. Please do not even think about stepping in for your dining options.
I ordered one of the vegetable soup based ramen and it did not meet my expectations. I asked for a change of soup and I was bluntly rejected. Not wanting to create a scene, I asked for a scoop of miso to mix into my ramen to make it more palatable and that was rejected once again. It was only when I rejected my order that my ramen was snatched away from my table and was asked "so what do you want to order?" in a unwilling tone of voice by what I can assume to be the overall in charge of the outlet that day. A feedback was written but no response or apologies were made for the past 10days. I think that shop space in Bugis Junction could do with a more decent restaurant.

The chicken was very salty, too small portions. Not recommend

The price is exorbitant and unjustifiable for such a minuscule portion, offering no value for the money.

The food was ok but the service was really bad, I came to the restaurant and they kept me waiting for a while and they served a couple “with a white guy” that came after me while my plate was late! They waitress also kept on going to him asking if he needed anything while we were being ignored.. The rudeness and racism is unbearable

Ramen is overpriced for small portions and with bland taste. Not going here again.

Fried rice lunch set is salty. Salmon is overcooked and dry. Pork Shabu Ramen have a very strong smell and taste🤮
The only dish that is edible should be the Gyoza. Unfortunately.
There wasn’t a lot of crowd during the busy lunch hour therefore we selected this store but never to our expectation their food taste awful.
Some prices show on their menu isn’t updated as well. When we approach Jason, explanation wasn’t done clearly either. Whole experience in store was an nightmare. Food is terrible and the worst is the lady who was very rude in her action (Txxx - couldn’t see her name tag clearly, tie up a pony tail and without spec), there is still customers around and each time when she was clearing the table, she either bang the thing or push & adjust the chair & table roughly.

First and last time for this restaurant. BAD service for the lady waitress.
Short one piece of Gyoza, instead of 5 pieces, shouldn't i request to get back? And when she served up, just throw the plate on the table, without a word, what kind of service is that? I'm not BEGGING FOR FREE!!! Is the chef SHORT one piece in the plate.

one of the worst places that we have gone…
amazingly this place has survived for at least 5 years, even post-covid times.
staff refused our request to sit near to the balcony, where we might possibly look over into the first floor, claiming that the area was not opened. we were then showed to a corner where every table was taken up. ordering was fuss-free as ipads were utilised. however the menu photos were blurry and poorly taken, & looking at the photos, there seemed to be more of a promise of substandard food, which indeed were realised.
udon in soup came hot, but a half slice of cheese was simply slapped on the chicken cutlet, so there you have the miso cheese chicken cutlet in its entirety. the cheese was also from the chiller, more suited to a sandwich item than to a hot udon soup item.
for the pork cutlet omu rice, most of it was served cold, including the limp fries.
a side of ebi fries was served with just a drop of mayonnaise. even a takeaway outlet (different brand) serving yakitori with ebi prawn as one of its offering, is able to provide more mayonnaise without question.
it’s a pity the restaurant hasn’t done anything to improve the overall experience, & it reflects badly on the mall management too for accepting a tenant only just because it could and will continue to pay the rent.
we couldn’t get out of the place fast enough, and we definitely won’t be back again.

First and last time for this restaurant. Bad service from the lady waitress.
I was shorted one piece of gyoza, receiving four instead of five. Shouldn't I have been able to request the missing piece? And when she served the food, she just threw the plate on the table without a word. What kind of service is that? I'm not begging for anything free! Is the chef short one piece on the plate?

It was generally lovely, although I did feel the food was slightly under seasoned. I mentioned it to the staff and they were greatful for the feedback.
