The staff member was rude and unprofessional. She noticed me, immediately ignored me, and turned away to pack. I stood there for over a minute. The other female staff member didn't even turn around, and both were too busy chatting over the food.

They offer cakes and Singaporean pastries. It's the best place to get local/Peranakan pastries. There is no seating, and no drinks are served. A strong recommendation is the cheese pandan cake! Additionally, the colorful coconut-filled Peranakan pastries are always worth the calories.

Cake quality has dropped: the cake is dense, and the mangoes are not sweet or flavourful. Edible and acceptable, but why get this when you can buy from other cake shops within the same price bracket and get nicer, more delightful cakes for the same price?

I love most of Bengawan Soolos's snacks, but my best advice is to stay away from their chocolate cake roll. It smells and tastes like feet.

Nice nyonya kueh, and the small size is good for portion control.

Before I purchased your Signature Pandan cake for my overseas friends to try, I asked if you helped to cut and provide plastic bags. The salesperson said yes. So, I went with two cakes and requested them to be cut. When I asked for the bags, she said they were 10 cents each, meaning 24 pieces of cake would be an extra $2.40. Ridiculous! And she still claimed she thought I meant the paper carrier. I was like, "I told you I needed to give them out to friends to eat and try. Otherwise, why would I ask you for plastic bags?" If I buy kueh, you also give me a plastic bag to put them in, right? This just reflects the service quality, especially for a business carrying a Singaporean signature product that they should be proud of.

First of all, I am a regular fan of Bengawan Solo, and I particularly love their walnut and pandan cakes. Today, I visited the Bengawan Solo outlet at Bugis Junction and bought a walnut cake and marble cake. When I cut it, I immediately noticed it was different—it was very dry. When I took a bite, my tongue was hurt due to a tiny stone in the cake. I am very disappointed.

Used to love their Kueh Dar dar. It looks nice on the outside, but when eaten, it has a burnt smell. They hide all the burnt kueh inside the dar dar. $1.90 for such shortcut quality. Disappointing.

The cakes and desserts we bought have always been lovely. Our favorite remains that pandan flan/custardy **dessert**, with a caramel sauce. Delicious. I can also recommend the Sagu Melaka. Prices are honest, and the team **is** always helpful.
